MD Consult is developing new specialty editions that include most of the premier journals for these specialties. While MD Consult's Core Service had touched on these specialties and provided texts and journals for these specialties, our new specialty sites go much more in depth and provide many more sources of trusted information, opinion, and research. It is important to note that no content was taken away from the MD Consult Core Service to create these specialty sites, but new content was added to allow these sites to be the most thorough source of trusted clinical content for the specialty.

The MEDLINE database is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database containing citations from 1966 to the present. MEDLINE covers the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and preclinical sciences. The database also includes citations to literature covering research and clinical aspects and health policy issues related to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Additional citations relate to Health Services, Technology, Administration and Research. These latter citations are both clinical (emphasizing the evaluation of patient outcomes and the effectiveness of procedures, programs, products, services, and processes) and non-clinical (emphasizing health care administration and planning).
The Clinics are hardbound periodicals that provide the latest diagnostic and therapeutic information in virtually every medical specialty. The Clinics were established in 1912 with publication of the first issue of the Surgical Clinics of North America, then known as the Surgical Clinics of John B. Murphy, MD, at Mercy Hospital, Chicago. The tradition of clinical excellence and relevance has remained the foundation of the Clinics program while its scope has expanded to encompass international authorship and readership as well as the latest advances in clinical medicine and healthcare delivery. MD Consult has the full text of Clinics articles from 1996 to the present.
